The 25 funds

A fund is money kept apart for one set of uses. Restricted funds can pay only for the purpose the law or the Council set.

General Fund departments

The 17 departments that the General Fund pays for, from largest to smallest.

Staff positions

Authorized positions by department and fund (page 15). A position can be full time or part time.

County debt

Debt the county owes at the start of 2026 (pages 84 and 85).

2026 capital projects

Some of the larger building, road, and equipment projects in the 2026 budget (page 65). They are paid from several funds.
